The Betty White

Joseph Coté, The Mill At Seventh (Lynden, WA)

Ingredients:

3 oz Outfitters Rum

3 basil leaves

2 oz Orange juice

Preparation:

Build drink in a cocktail shaker

Add 2 oz Outfitters Rum

Add 3 basil leaves

Muddle leaves into Rum

Add 2 oz Orange juice

Add 1 oz Outfitters Rum

Add ice

Shake and Strain into a Highball glass filled with ice

Top with soda water

“Well rum tends to be excessively over-sugared. Not the case here. Outfitters Rum doesn’t taste like they poured sugar in a bottle of vodka. It is crisp, has a pleasant mouth feel and allows the strength of the alcohol to come through.”

Outfitters Gin Martini

Rafael Barreto, Baar Baar L.A.

(From his win at the L.A. 2026 Outfitters Cosmo Cup)

Ingredients:

3oz Outfitters Gin

1oz extra dry vermouth

2 dashes Orange bitters

0.5 oz Italicus Rosolio Di Bergamotto

Lemon twist garnish

Preparation:

Chill a martini glass by filling with ice up to the rim.

Add 3oz Outfitters Gin, 1oz extra dry vermouth (Rafael’s version used Chrysanthemum-infused Bordiga), and 2 dashes of orange bitters to a mixing glass.

Stir for 15 seconds.

Dump the ice from the martini glass.

Add 0.5 oz of Italicus Rosolio Di Bergamotto to the martini glass and rinse the glass by swirling the liquid around the glass and up-to the rim.

After rinsing the glass, dump the liquid.

Strain contents from the mixing glass into the martini glass.

Express the oil of a lemon twist over the rim of the martini glass.

Drop the lemon twist inside the cocktail or lay it on the rim.

“You should get the aroma of Italicus when you bring the cocktail to your palate. Then you will get the flavor of a classic gin martini, with the addition of my original notes to the vermouth. Tasting the citrus of the lemon oil in the back-end you’ll also get a lil’ flavor from the Italicus.”
